About StartupQA

Built by someone who's been in your shoes. Software where bugs cost millions.

Our Founder

I've spent 10+ years testing software where quality failures mean more than lost revenue. They mean harm.

At Epic: I was an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) working on the EMR system that tens of thousands of hospitals run. Electronic health records don't forgive bugs. A calculation error in a drug dosage recommendation, a missed validation on a patient identifier — these cascade into real consequences.

At Mayo Clinic: I led QA for clinical software systems. We tested under the assumption that every release might affect patient care. That changes how you think about testing.

At American Red Cross and Paychex: I learned how regulated organizations think about release safety. Audits, compliance checks, the weight of putting a release into production when regulators are watching.

Now, at StartupQA: I work with founders shipping regulated products who face the same pressure. You can't afford to fail audits. Bugs in payment processing, claims logic, or rate calculations don't get second chances. And you're trying to move fast while meeting compliance requirements.

Why I Started This

Most startups can't afford a full-time senior QA engineer ($120K+/year, 2-3 months onboarding). But if you're regulated, you can't afford not to have serious QA discipline. That gap is where StartupQA lives.

I built this with one principle: you shouldn't have to choose between moving fast and shipping with confidence. You need someone who understands both sides of that tension. Someone who's tested mission-critical systems and knows what "good" looks like, but also understands startup constraints and velocity.

That's the service. I own the strategy, the accountability, and the results. A vetted execution team handles the day-to-day testing. You get enterprise-grade QA discipline at a price that makes sense for a growing startup.
